Zerodium Announced The Winner Who Created Browser-based Untethered Jailbreak of iOS 9.1/9.2 Beta

Last month, Zerodium has announced that they will pay US$1 million for an exclusive browser-based untethered jailbreak of iOS 9. They even dare to pay a total of three million US dollars in rewards for iOS 9 exploits/jailbreaks. Each team who submits an exclusive, browser-based, and untethered jailbreak for the latest Apple iOS 9 operating systems and devices will get each US$1 million. The program was open until October 31, 2015 at 6:00 p.m EDT.

Today, Zerodium announced the winner of their US$1,000,000 bounty for a browser-based untethered jailbreak of iOS 9, as the tweet on their Twitter account:

Our iOS #0day bounty has expired & we have one winning team who made a remote browser-based iOS 9.1/9.2b #jailbreak (untethered). Congrats!

They didn’t tell anything about the team that made the untethered remote browser-based iOS 9.1 and iOS 9.2 beta to public. They don’t have a plan yet to announce it, and it’s entirely Zerodium’s right. They are even not planning to share this method to the public as the Pangu team did through their jailbreak tool for iOS 9 – 9.0.2. The success of the hacker team has proven there is a security cavity on iOS 9.1 and even iOS 9.2 beta. This can be an alert for Apple to cover that cavity.
