­­What Does iCloud Keychain Do?

Now, about the extra feature that Apple presented to its users so as to protect their safety. iCloud Keychain makes sure to keep your credit card info along with your saved passwords up to date just on the devices that you have approved of. After you turn on iCloud keychain on any of your new devices your previous (other) devices obtain an approval request for your new Apple device. After you have approved the request of your additional device, the iCloud Keychain software automatically starts with updating on that device as well.

How To Use iCloud Keychain?

After you upgrade all your devices to iOS 7.0.3 or later, an iOS setup subordinate will bring you a message asking if you want to set up the iCloud Keychain. If you have skipped that step and now have changed your mind and want to set Keychain up again follow these steps:

These steps are for iOS 7.0.3 or later on:

  1. Go to your Settings. Click on iCloud and there you will find an option to turn Keychain on.
  2. Follow the instructions that will appear on the screen.

If you are using OS X Mavericks v10.9 or later on follow these steps:

  1. Go to your Apple menu then System Preferences and there you can click iCloud.
  2. Click on Keychain. If you would like, there will come an option for you if you want to set for your device a password to unlock your screen after it sleeps. Or after your screensaver starts.
  3. There you will get an option to enter your Apple ID and password.
  4. Afterwards you can follow the instructions that come in the screen.
